Veterinary Nurses

The Head Nurse at Pype Hayes Veterinary Centre is Elaine Bassinder. Qualifying as a veterinary nurse involves training while still in full time employment and takes a lot of hard work and dedication. We currently employ five fully qualified VN`s as well as a nursing assistant and two evening assistants who help the nursing team with their duties.

Head Nurse

Elaine Bassinder RVN

Elaine graduated in 1973. She joined the practice in 1987 and is the Head Nurse. Elaine deals with organising the nursing staff. “I left the 608 Veterinary Group after working there for eleven years to have a family. I started working for Pype Hayes Veterinary Centre when my children were toddlers. At first I worked a few evenings a week but ended up working full time, as my children got older. I enjoy the variety of the job, as no two days are ever exactly the same. It is very rewarding work, caring for an animal that is critically ill or injured, then seeing it improve and go home is probably the best part of the job.”
